Frequently asked questions about the electronic laboratory notebook
What is ELN in the first place?
An Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) is a digital platform that enables laboratory professionals to digitally document their work results and processes. In contrast to traditional, paper-based laboratory notebooks, the ELN offers numerous advantages such as improved data security, better collaboration and greater efficiency in data collection and analysis.
Which operating system should my tablet have?
[FP]-LIMS uses the Windows services, for this reason our software runs exclusively on devices with Windows operating system.
Is the electronic lab book available free of charge?
Unfortunately, no. That would also not do justice to the high quality of the ELN module. Many hours of development work and 30 years of experience on the LIMS market have gone into this product. However, if you have the [FP]-LIMS analysis management in the professional version, it can be docked to your existing system with manageable effort.
How can I get the electronic lab book?
[FP]-LIMS is based on a modular system. The basis is formed by the versions [FP]-LIMS Light as an entry-level version, [FP]-LIMS Standard for common requirements and [FP]-LIMS Professional for more complex requirements. The prerequisite for using the electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) is [FP]-LIMS Professional.
